Arrival
Arrival to Kappl is convenient and trouble-free from all directions via motor-ways, expressways and federal roads. Please note that, to use motorways in Austria, you will require a Mautvignette (“toll sticker”). Innsbruck has an international airport that you can fly into.

You will be able to reach a competent community physician in Kappl. The nearest hospital is located in Zams (30 km). The town of Kappl also has a bank and numerous shops.

Child care
A diversified children’s programme is offered in Kappl Monday to Friday from 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM starting in June and through to the beginning of October. Children from 4 to 10 years of age experience fun, games and excitement with trained care givers at the Sunny Mountain Club!
Clothing and gear
Light, casual clothing is recommended for the summer. It can become cool in the evenings, especially in the mountains. Warm, functional clothing is therefore recommended. Be sure to bring a head covering, sunglasses and sun protection on your hikes in the mountains. Ankle-high trekking or hiking boots are essential for children as well! Always bring along a small knapsack for beverages.
Travel time
Both in summer and in winter, Kappl is a great travel destination for your family holiday in Tyrol. The summer season goes from June to the beginning of October. Temperatures in summer are moderate, but hot as well as rainy days are always a possibility in the mountains.
Swimming
The neighbouring towns of Galtür and Ischgl have outdoor and indoor swimming pools. They can be reached within minutes by car or valley bus.
Sporting opportunities
Kappl and the surrounding mountains are a paradise for hiking enthusiasts. Mountain bikers are in especially good hands in Kappl: The Silvretta Bike Arena is world-famous. Rental bikes are available for the duration of your holiday. The bike routes are not suitable for families with small children, however. Other sporting opportunities in and around Kappl include: Climbing, high rope course, rafting, Nordic walking, tennis, fishing and canoeing.
Hiking
The area surrounding Kappl is ideal for hikes with children. The gorgeous scenery on the sunny hillside above Kappl boasts leisure hiking trails and numerous farmed mountain inns that are sure to put hungry hikers in a great mood.
