Winter fun on two wheels

Fat biking in Tyrol

If you would like to try the trend sport of fat biking, you can do so in the Paznaun region. Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, adventurous bikers get the chance to cruise down the snow-covered toboggan run or winter hiking routes with special balloon tyres preventing falls in the slippery snow.

What is a fat bike?

Fat bikes appeared on the scene in 2010. They look just like ordinary mountain bikes but with extra wide tyres of 4.0 to 4.8 inches and a diameter of 30 inches, which make them perfect for riding in all kinds of terrain, including sand and snow. To improve grip, they have lower tyre pressure as well.
