Freeriding in Kappl

A dark horse from a freeriding point of view, Kappl is a huge insider's tip when it comes to powder-fun: "First Line Experience" is guaranteed for all those who venture into backcountry territory here. Mainly known as an idyllic snow paradise for families so far, is set to attract an increasing number of powder junkies in the years to come.

Freeride Contest in Kappl

For the sixth year in a row, the OPEN FACES FREERIDE CONTESTS are to visit Paznaun this winter – with two contests and the amazing Kappl Freeride Days.

On 20th of January the OPEN FACES Contests in Kappl-Paznaun are to celebrate their comeback to Kappl. Also the Juniors Freeride Tour will be back. The freeride series for the under 18s are also to be held as part of the OPEN FACES. OPEN FACES chief organiser Markus Löffler, says: “By expanding to include the junior events, a long-held wish of ours has come to fruition. Key ideas in creating the OPEN FACES FREERIDE CONTESTS were making it easier for zero-point freeriders to get into the scene and make freeriding known to the people. By hosting the junior events we are going even further and acting exactly where we can have the most impact, namely with the youngsters.”

The main event of 2*OPEN FACES KAPPL-PAZNAUN is again to take to the infamous Quellspitze mountain.

The Kappl Freeride Days from January 19 to 21 will be full of workshops, guided tour, trainings, etc. The best of all: Everything but the freeride workshops will be free of charge!
