In Paznaun, especially in Ischgl, Galtür, Kappl and See, this is no problem at all. The valley is considered particularly dog-friendly: the pleasant high mountain climate is ideal for dogs, but grazing animals also feel at home here in their natural environment.

Travelling with dogs on public transport and cable cars
Dogs wearing a bite-proof muzzle may be carried free of charge, provided they can be accommodated without causing a nuisance or inconvenience to other passengers.
Small dogs must be carried; large dogs must be kept on a short lead.
Passengers must supervise their animals. Animals must not be carried on seats. If the bus is full, the driver may refuse to allow them on board.
Summer & Winter:
Dogs are only permitted on the Alpkogelbahn if they are muzzled and kept on a lead. Dogs running loose are not allowed.
Summer: The cable cars in Ischgl and Samnaun will take you and your four-legged friend in comfort to the mountains and hiking trails of the Silvretta Arena Ischgl/Samnaun. For further information, please contact info@silvretta.at.
Winter: Dogs may be taken on the Silvretta, Fimba and Pardatschgrad cable cars provided they are muzzled and kept on a lead. Dogs are not permitted on chairlifts. Dogs are not allowed to run loose on the slopes.

Dogs are only permitted on gondola lifts and chairlifts if they are muzzled and kept on a lead. Dogs running loose are not allowed.

Dogs are only permitted on the Medrigjochbahn if they are muzzled and kept on a lead when other passengers are in the gondola. Dogs are not allowed to run loose. Note: When travelling on the chairlifts, please ask the cable car staff first.

Dog stations for collecting and disposing of dog waste bags
We love dogs – but not their waste. That's why we have set up an extensive dog walking system in Paznaun along the hiking trails and cross-country ski trails to prevent pollution of the pasture areas. Help keep the hiking trails and cross-country ski trails clean and dispose of your dog's waste.
Penalties for not keeping dogs on a leash: In the areas listed below, dogs must be kept on a leash without exception, even for very well-behaved and small dogs. Negligence can cost dog owners up to €500.
Dog faeces: However, if a pile is left behind, a fine of up to €2,000 may be imposed. The obligation to pick up dog faeces applies always and everywhere!

1. Old valley path – starting at the municipal boundary with Ischgl and continuing to the Ulmicher Säge municipal road
2. Winter hiking trail – starting in Nederle and continuing out of the valley to Brandau and the municipal boundary lake
