When Sunny Mountain shows its sunniest side, a new summer highlight awaits in Kappl: the Sunny Mountain Carts. Starting at the Alblittbahn mountain station, a 4.26-kilometre route winds its way downhill on well-maintained gravel paths – through meadows and forests, offering impressive panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Curves, wind and alpine views make the descent a special experience on the mountain.

After a brief introduction, the adventure on three wheels begins. The sturdy mountain carts are easy to steer and ensure a safe riding experience – even for beginners. Whether with friends, family or as an action-packed addition to a hike, the ride down into the valley combines nature, exercise and lots of riding fun.

Experience adventure!
  • Where: Alblittbahn mountain station to Alblittbahn valley station
  • Route and speed: 4.26 km forest trail, always ride at moderate speed!
  • Elevation difference: During the ride, an elevation difference of 212 metres is covered (2,412 to 2,200 metres)
  • Total riding time: depending on speed

  • Tickets: Alblittbahn valley station and ticket shop at the Alblittbahn mountain station.
  • The Sunny Mountain Kiosk is open on operating days!
  • Children under the age of 14 are only permitted to use the mountain carts (Sunny Mountain Cart) and the mountain cart track in the presence of an adult supervisor.
  • Children under the age of 12 and under 150 cm tall are not permitted to drive a mountain cart (Sunny Mountain Cart) on their own. They may only be used together with an adult supervisor on the mountain cart (sunny mountain cart).
  • Children under the age of 4 are not permitted to use or share the use of the mountain carts (Sunny Mountain Cart) or the cart track!
  • Helmets are compulsory on the entire cart track and sturdy closed shoes must be worn. Clothing suitable for the outdoors must also be worn. Helmets are issued free of charge for the Sunny Mountain Cart ride directly at the issue point at the start (Alblittbahn mountain station).
  • Goggles for the wind or dust are recommended.
  • Each user will receive instruction from the Sunny Mountain Cart staff directly at the issue point.
  1. Observe the helmet requirement!
  2. Only ride with a valid ticket!
  3. Carry out a brake test before setting off. Always brake with both brake levers at the same time! The left brake lever brakes the left rear wheel, the right brake lever brakes the right rear wheel.
  4. Place your feet on the footrests during the entire journey!
  5. Pay attention to the signs! Racing, riding in a group, reversing and tailgating are prohibited without exception!
  6. Only ride at a moderate speed! Reduce speed considerably before bends. Always lean your upper body towards the inside of the bend.
  7. Keep your distance! Adapt your riding style and speed to your own ability! Make yourself noticed by ringing the bell!
  8. Riding the mountain carts (sunny mountain cart) is at your own risk! Do not leave the marked route!
  9. Expect oncoming traffic, pedestrians, cyclists or cattle on the entire route!
  10. Ride through pasture fences at walking pace.
  11. The mountain cart (sunny Mountain cart) can be pulled easily and comfortably by the footrests or the loops on the footrests.
  12. Always park the mountain cart (sunny Mountain cart) so that it cannot roll away.
  13. Return the mountain cart (sunny mountain cart) to the designated garage and the helmets to the ticket office.

  15. Driving the mountain cart (sunny mountain cart) under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited without exception!
