Regional specialities, traditional crafts and authentic Tyrolean customs meet musical highlights and moments of indulgence – at the 16th Paznaun Market Day, Ischgl becomes a festival venue for all the senses.
On Saturday, 30 August 2025, starting at 10:30 a.m., the Silvretta car park in Ischgl will once again be transformed into a lively meeting place for regional cuisine and Tyrolean customs. The 16th Paznaun Market Day, organised by the Ischgl Music Band, is a popular summer highlight in the Tyrolean Paznaun region and offers insights into regional product diversity, living traditions and contemporary presentations of Alpine culture.
Regional specialities & crafts
The centrepiece of the market day is Paznaun alpine cheese, made from pure milk from Paznaun alpine pastures. A total of ten alpine pastures and three valley dairies present their traditional cheese-making skills. The culinary offerings are complemented by regional products such as bacon, bread, honey and schnapps. Local crafts are also represented – for example, with felt, wood and Swiss stone pine products that showcase the creativity and quality of regional producers.
A varied programme of events for all generations
In addition to culinary delights, market day offers a varied programme of events that combines culture and entertainment:
- Festive start: The festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. directly at the tourist office in Ischgl, from where the marching bands will parade through the village streets of Ischgl in a festive mood. This is followed by the official ceremony with the ceremonial cheese cutting, the traditional beer tapping and the election of the Cheese Queen 2025 – an atmospheric highlight that has long since become a fixture in the annual calendar.
- Musical programme: Festive musical entertainment will be provided by the Vorderthiersee Federal Band, the Schabs Band and the lively group "Panzlmusig".
From 8:30 p.m., the Gehörsturz brass band will provide an atmospheric finale.
- Live cooking with Martin Sieberer: At 3 p.m., top chef Martin Sieberer will demonstrate how regional ingredients can be transformed into creative dishes – a highlight for gourmets and amateur chefs alike.
- Activities for children and families: The Paznaun Adventure Club organises creative children's entertainment with games and fun. The Ischgl Mountain Rescue Service also invites young visitors to enjoy safe climbing fun with traditional beer crate climbing.

Whether as a meeting place for connoisseurs, an excursion destination for families or a stage for traditional music – it is the perfect start to the Golden Summits autumn series, which enriches the region with culture, sport and enjoyment from 30 August to 12 October.
