The Alpine region will be at the front of a low-pressure system near the British Isles in a foehn-like, changeable southwesterly flow until Thursday. This will bring us cloudy and, for this time of year, quite mild air masses from the western Mediterranean. Disturbances embedded in this southwesterly flow will occasionally cause a slight increase in precipitation, but no significant rainfall is expected for now. The south foehn wind, which will be stronger in some areas of the mountains, will repeatedly weaken the approaching precipitation fields over our region, which means that the sun will still have a chance to shine. The frost line will remain at altitudes around 3000 meters above sea level and will repeatedly be significantly higher than this. It is only in the course of Thursday that a cold front from the west could move in and have a more significant effect on the weather. Behind this disturbance, the weather is expected to calm down on Friday and Saturday due to the foehn wind. However, it will be noticeably cooler than recently.
